Leadership

Dana has always had a love and respect for all animals from the smallest creatures to the most majestic giants. She has taken in homeless cats and a dog, fostered kittens and ducklings, and can often be found saving worms from drying out on sidewalks and being stepped on. Dana has volunteered, interned, and worked at various sanctuaries for farmed animals. She also had the opportunity to volunteer at an animal sanctuary for lions and hyenas in South Africa. In addition, she has worked as a veterinary assistant in multiple animal hospitals. Dana not only has a natural ability to nurture but loves to gently teach people, especially children, all about animals and the natural world. These experiences have fueled her desire to create an animal sanctuary and education center at home here on Long Island.
